Daisy Draper’s music explores themes of healing and transformation through the perspective of her own spiritual journey. With Inner Child, she hopes to help listeners reconnect with the part of themselves that has been neglected and hurt.
Draper believes that we must push past our natural inclination towards self-criticism. We’re often conditioned to disregard our true selves and embrace the concept of being ‘wrong’. By reconnecting with the inner child within us, we can unlearn such thoughts and live a more genuine life.
The sound of Inner Child is excellent and mainly centered around the acoustic guitar, which provides warmth and comfort. Draper gives the lyrics the spotlight they deserve by singing gracefully.
