Norwegian artist TULLE began writing songs at an early age, studying Lorde, Phoebe Bridgers, and Glass Animals before developing her own style, which she calls “death-pop”. Her latest single, Godforsaken City, marks the next step in her musical journey. The track is driven by bassy synths and has a melancholy feel to it.

The lyrics are about how it feels when someone breaks your heart in a place you love. The whole city loses colour when they leave you, and you’re left with only half of your heart.

TULLE’s vocals have a noticeable presence and show the right level of intensity, so they never get too overwhelming. Her performance stays very steady throughout.

The single is taken from Tulle’s forthcoming The Death EP, where themes of loss, grief, suffering and rebirth are explored, as well as the big questions; what happens after death and what do we become?
