‘Tobias Arbo’ is the artist project of Swedish artist Tobias Ekelund. He just shared his single, Carousel. It features remarkable instrumentation. There’s a persistent synth carpet in the first verse, which gets accompanied by various embellishments. The atmosphere gets smaller and more intimate in verse two, then grows into a storm-like crescendo in the outro, whose dark clouds lift just before it ends.
Carousel represents Tobias’s considerable talent as a songwriter. He knows exactly how to keep listeners engaged. The song explores how hard it can be to break patterns and find new perspectives when we are stuck in thoughts that grind, limit, and reduce us.
