Casey Conroy’s alternative pop music is always entertaining to listen to. Her latest release, Cashew, builds on her earlier work, but also brings something fresh to the table. Its production flows and ebbs naturally, and I’m intrigued by how it retains your focus. There are both soothing and energizing moments.
Casey began working on this when her frequent collaborator Gavin Hadley (credits include Kanye West and Jack Harlow) sent her a sample pack with a loop called “Cashew”. The lyrics capture what it’s like to love someone more than they love you.
