Newcomer to the pop scene, Carlyn, shares a similar style to Billie Eilish and Madison Beer. Her latest single, Try to get away, sounds spectacular and is musically next level. The production strikes the right note, and especially during the chorus, it offers much richness. If I had to describe Carlyn’s singing in just one word, it would be, “iconic.”.
The lyrics of Try to get away are well-written. Their inspiration comes from wanting what you can’t have. They talk about two people who know they shouldn’t be together, but can’t help but fall back into each other every chance they get, almost as if the universe is playing games with them, bringing them together over and over to see if they can resist. The song signifies the feeling of being stuck in the relationship, and the strong effort it takes to leave.
