Los Angeles-based electropop duo JAY II (consisting of Jay Phoenix and Hailey J) share their new single, trippin. It uses plucked string sections and dark, 80’s-inspired synths to build an immersive soundscape that directs you into an unfamiliar world. It’s fascinating how the production constantly changes direction. Haily J’s powerful vocals convey various emotions.
The lyrics of trippin can be understood by anyone. They describe a love that makes you feel unbalanced and different. JAY II presents the song’s theme very well.
