After a year-long hiatus from releasing music, Davey Legend is resurfacing with a track that finds him struggling with love and self-doubt. Produced and recorded in his Redding, CA studio, somebody tells the story of a failed romance and Legend’s attempts to keep the other person in his life, even if just as a friend.
Longtime fans of Legend will appreciate his signature quirky and self-deprecating style present in somebody. However, the unexpectedly emotional lyrics and vulnerable themes show how much he has grown as an artist. While still playful, somebody proves Legend can handle more complicated topics, unafraid to share painful or cringey experiences with his listeners.
