Nashville-based singer, songwriter and producer Phillip LaRue recently released Colors, an album full of fascinating songs. His strength lies in the fact that he makes you feel like you’re entering his world when you listen to him. Doesn’t that sound interesting?
Colors begins with the title-track, which brings cinematic influences to the forefront, establishing a memorable ambiance. Dessert Rose sounds more energetic and gets things rolling. It All and Just Breathe provide a smooth transition, showcasing Phillip’s versatility. This invites you to pay close attention.
Take a Fall is rhythmically so powerful that you won’t get it out of your head. My favorite track on the project has to be Thank You June. Its melodic guitar blends emotion and catchiness so well. Moreover, I find the song to be conceptually appealing. Somehow, it speaks to me so deeply.
Dandelion, Nightingale, and Never Break are three other masterpieces by Phillip. They only enhance the album. Ships, Cover You, and Amen form the perfect conclusion. Particularly noteworthy is the last one. It’s something you have to hear for yourself.
Want to elude reality for 43 minutes and 44 seconds? If so, then don’t wait any longer, and check out Colors below!
