Zoe Ko’s new single, Baby Teeth, is an introspective look at the bad habits and deep insecurities she has held onto for too long. It took her a year and a half to become the person she was supposed to be after going through so many changes. She found transformation terrifying because it required letting go of the past.
Baby Teeth excels musically. Paramore’s influence shines through in the staccato, grungy instrumentation that’s driven by guitars. The angsty, rebellious tone reminiscent of classic pop-punk brings a familiar feel.
