For Rye Milligan, songwriting allows him to open up about his feelings more easily. It seems to be the best way to get inside his head. Rye hopes that the lyrics he pens are understood by those who know him best.
The singer’s new single Hey Mel delivers a message of compassion and encouragement. He shows confidence in someone close to him by recognizing their self-doubts, but insisting they are “enough” just as they are.
Hey Mel features good instrumentation, blending various styles. There are times when it’s more pop, and other times when it’s more soulful. Rye’s vocals, in my opinion, sound excellent.
