Lilla Shy’s latest single Text Me When You’re Home addresses the anxieties women face when they walk alone at night. Lyrically, she conveys the vulnerability and hypervigilance experienced in those moments. Her message, in contrast, is an optimistic one – Lilla believes that as a society, we can create a world where people of all genders feel safe.
Lilla is at her best when she uses her music to advocate for change on deeply important issues. There should be more songs like Text Me When You’re Home. They represent so many voices. We shouldn’t remain silent anymore!
