In New Year’s, emerging Dutch singer-songwriter Faye Ven talks about feeling lonely even when you’re around other people. She also mentions seeing friends find relationships while you stay single. When that happens, it’s easy to feel like your life doesn’t have much meaning or purpose.
New Year’s has splendid guitar melodies that are driving the sound forward. The vocals exhibit heartfelt emotion and sound natural. Particularly during the chorus, they come alive.
