Definitely one to watch is Sophia Angeles, a young pop singer/songwriter on the rise. She shares her new single, Distract Myself. It features glowing pop sounds that gain momentum and surprise at the same time. Several sections, including the chorus, shine with catchiness here. The vocals, as you might expect, really rock.
Distract Myself highlights the struggle of coping with a breakup by seeking distractions. The end of Sophia’s own relationship led her to socialize with friends, attend parties, and extend work hours as a method of evading thoughts of her ex-partner, reflecting the universal experience of attempting to numb heartache in various ways.
