With her new single Black Limousine, Celine Love puts the spotlight on her talent mightily. It uses unusual tones and textures that overstep genres. It’s especially noticeable how well the guitars fall upon the ear. As far as her vocal performance is concerned, Celine strives for success.
Celine wrote Black Limousine during her first year of studying songwriting in Berlin. During this year, her perspective on the music industry has changed significantly, and now she sees it as soul-crushing. The song opens with the line ‘I sold my soul to the highest bidder’, exactly what Celine has tried to avoid throughout her career. The lyrics don’t speak of experience, they’re predicting a future she hopes never happens.
