Kacey Fifield loves to mix up her style rather than stick to one. This can again be heard on Left Behind, a song off the newly released EP Nostalgia Haunts Me. In addition to the buoyant production, it features cycling synths and acoustic guitar lines. There’s even more to discover, but it’s up to you to find out. The vocals are solid, spinning around the backdrop like a enchantment.
Fifield wrote this song when she was in the middle of receiving acceptance letters. It was the end of the year, all of her relationships felt like they were falling apart, and the future scared her. As Fifield wrote these lyrics, she distilled everything she was thinking into them.
