Swedish singer-songwriter Nellie Drené releases her new single, Blame, alongside the EP Broken Hearted Girl. Decorated with soulful tones, the song serves its purpose well. You feel like you’re walking on the sun, trying to find some peace of mind. The vocals, mostly in a high register, are at their strongest when they echo the melody played by the guitar.
Blame talks about love that hasn’t been kind to you. It’s saying that you aren’t responsible for the pain of someone else. And Nellie is completely right. We appreciate that she’s not shy to speak the truth.
