Singer-songwriter Kelley Cole releases her new single, twenty five. Our first reaction was: ”WOW”. This comes from deep within. The lyrics are based on Cole’s real life. Around the 15th of April 2023, she realized she owed the IRS money. And no, not just a little. After Cole finished paying it and watched her bank account run dry, she sat on the floor and wrote this song. Impressive story, right?
Musically, twenty five uses strong drums and guitar to kind of relieve 2023 once more. Above them is a place set aside for powerful singing that brings an ode to girlhood. We think Cole communicates her message without losing any confidence in it.
twenty five does what it should do. It can already be included in your top 10 lists for 2024 easily. If this doesn’t make you curious to listen, we don’t know what will. Check out the song below!
