Salty Licorice hails from Gothenburg and makes music. She drops North Sea Siren (p.78). And, let’s be honest, it’s brilliant. Brazilian Funk can be heard in the song’s groove. It bounces well, holding the foundation tightly. Dreamy vocals interact melodically with the guitar as they layer over one another.
North Sea Siren (p.78) explores themes of feeling irrelevant, change, and a place to call home. Some of the lines are really poetic, like: ”Melt my heart of snow. So cold I follow where it flows like a river”. I don’t know, but I kept thinking about this one. It’s so wonderfully put.
