Calum Scott was able to parlay his success from Britain’s Got Talent into a recording career as a soulful pop artist after winning the 2015 season. He releases Roots. I like how breezy the production is. It makes me want to lie on a beach at sunrise listening to it. The vocals are powerful, with some cool edges.
In this song, Calum praises the kind of love that illuminates the soul and connects us to our truest selves. The lyrics are uplifting, cheering you up almost immediately. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a good thing.
