Boy Jr. is the songwriting/production project of Ariel Allen-Lubman (they/them). They release their new single, Still Be Friends. It serves as Boy Jr.’s sarcastic take on the typical breakup conversation. The lyrics depict the scenario in which someone goes on and on about their partner and insists on maintaining a friendship because they “deserve the best,” yet, they still break up.
Still Be Friends has smooth production. I love the quirky textures dotted everywhere. The vocals sound powerful, keeping you involved. The chorus also works well.
