Singer-songwriter Cashavelly releases Rewrite. It explores her struggle with her identity, stemming from her father’s dismissive attitude toward her mother. She reveals a cycle of seeking validation and love from men, echoing history. The lyrics communicate longing, disappointment, and the desire to break free from these inherited emotional wounds.
Rewrite features vocals that don’t stagnate from one part to another, but remain super consistent. The chorus sounds a little like Chappell Roan. I love the indie pop production, because it makes things special.
Cashavelly does what she wants and tells the story that needs to be told. See her as a source of inspiration. Check out Rewrite below!
