Using space-age 70s pop aesthetics, Eva Rundle’s debut single A Familiar Place dips us into alienating conditions. It motivates you to remove yourself from your comfort zone and try something new. For Eva, that means living in a remote town.
The song includes a high degree of musicianship in which the kick drums provide strong beats within delicate electronic sounds, so they’re harmoniously mashed up without major difficulties. The ending nods to David Bowie, which brings back some memories.
