Sidney Bird is a southwestern darling making a name for herself in Arizona. She releases mean girl. It has a touch of country, as well as gentle pop sounds. I’m fascinated by how the vocals flourish, and how they’re layered during the chorus.
This song is inspired by the negativity and hurtful comments often found online, mostly from internet trolls who believe they can say anything without considering the impact on others. The lyrics map out the harm caused by bullies’ actions, as well as the need to combat such behavior.
