Hamburg-based band Guacáyo release their new single, Drama. It has soulful riffs that sound as if they’re being lifted by dancers and ascending toward the top of the roof to reach the heights of the arrangement. The vocals have such power, they cross time and space. I love the catchy tone of the whole thing.
This song implies a nuanced exploration of different perspectives on drama. It touches upon the tendency of some people to project their own unresolved emotions onto others by labeling them as drama queens, signaling a lack of self-awareness and emotional confrontation.
