MarkJoseph is an artist from Los Angeles. He shows his most promising side on his solo debut, They All Fall Down. It has 6 songs that all have their own specialness and are therefore of high value.

Villain launches the project to the stars. It’s an anthem about being villainized for setting boundaries and saying no. While it’s great that you’re doing that, some people interfere with your feelings for their own purposes. Moving pays homage to MarkJoesph’s high school friends and how you wish everything could remain the same forever. I love how the instrumentals echo the lyrics’ sentiment.

Know Us tells the story of MarkJoseph crushing on a close friend at Berklee College of Music in Boston. His sassy vocals add spice to the whole scene. The guitar arrangement is also of interest to me. Red Flag points out the moment of realization in a toxic relationship, signaling the decision to unapologetically walk away when you’ve reached your limit. This song operates as the soundtrack for newfound empowerment and clarity, resonating with anyone feeling this way.

Twist tackles the topic of self-sabotaging in relationships. Sometimes it may seem like someone is playing with you when it isnt. Because of this, you push them away, even though they’re dear to you. Overboard implies being someone’s rebound, knowing it, and being gaslit/get the runaround. R&B influences give the production a strong feel. I love how the chorus takes shape.

If you ask me, MarkJoseph has everything a pop star should have. I really enjoy They All Fall Down, specifically now that the sun is out. Don’t wait too long and listen to the EP below.
