20-year-old Alt Pop/Folkgaze artist Leah Wilcox does what she loves the most: making music. Her new single, just a bore., goes deep. It addresses the unrealistic societal expectations placed on women to be idealized, larger-than-life figures in relationships. Leah muses on the internal struggle of feeling the need to be more than just herself to keep someone interested, and the realization that this is subhuman.
just a bore. features many layers of complexity in its musical language. I love the piano, bassline, and acoustic guitar, which each involve you separately. The vocals make things lighter with their sparkle.
