Singer-songwriter Jess Ball strikes back with her new single, That Way. It examines the emotional rollercoaster of a long-distance friendship. It must be such a weird space to be in. Like, you hate that they’re moving farther away but you’re still rooting for them 100%. The song really acknowledges both the pride and heartbreak experienced when someone close to you transitions into another phase of their life.
Ball is able to keep the song melodic and pop-focused while simultaneously communicating complex emotions. Over pulsating basslines and bright guitar chords, she lets her thoughts be made known.
