Singer/songwriter Abigail Mae releases her empowering single, you don’t get to be sad!, aimed at those who have endured the heartbreak and betrayal of a cheating partner. With smooth yet resolute vocals over a polished country-pop production, it declares that the victim of infidelity shouldn’t be the one left grieving or apologizing.
As Mae explains, the song was inspired by her own experience with a former romantic relationship impacted by dishonesty. Witnessing the pain of others in similar situations, she recognized the all-too-common pattern of the unfaithful partner attempting to position themselves as the wounded party deserving of sympathy. This single firmly rejects that notion, instead offering solidarity and strength right away.
