British rising star LAMBERT makes electro-pop music. Her latest single, Used To Be, captures a common relationship issue. It’s about how even when you find someone new, your past doubts and worries have a way of creeping back up. The song succeeds in its goal of putting you in that internal struggle.
I admire the way the soundscape evolves over time. The song’s chorus is dripping with melody and builds up with layers to an even more epic conclusion. There are lush synthesizers, vocal chops, and a really punchy bassline. You can rest assured that musically, you won’t be underwhelmed
