It’s really fascinating how Katryna-Florence’s new single Room for Doubt came to be. Apparently, she wrote the entire thing on the fly, right after having a full-blown panic attack. Can you imagine? She was in the grips of this intensely anxious, overwhelming state, and somehow the lyrics just poured out of her naturally.
I really dig this track’s production. It’s like the instruments and vocals keep piling on top of each other, getting more intense and frantic as the song goes on. You can almost feel the different stages of a panic attack happening through the music itself. It starts with that uneasy, anxious vibe that slowly builds into full-blown dread and terror by the climax. Katryna-Florence did such an incredible job of translating those abstract emotional sensations into a concrete musical form that you can viscerally connect with.
