Dutch singer-songwriter Rosie Meyer releases her new single, can’t get it out. The lyrics express the tension and anxiety of dealing with personal demons and keeping secrets. Meyer admits the difficulty of opening up to others and seeking help, so instead she internalizes her feelings and deals with them on her own. Obviously, this isn’t always the best option.
can’t get it out comes across as a hybrid of indie-pop and Scandinavian-pop. The beats are super upbeat and fun, and the vocals just have this dynamic quality that I’m really digging. I love how everything comes together during the chorus.
Meyer’s openness and musicianship define can’t get it out, making it one of the most powerful songs in her discography. Check it out below!
