You know that feeling when you hear a new song and it gets stuck in your head? That’s exactly what happened to me when I first listened to Silver Lining by Jamila, an incredibly talented indie-pop artist from Zurich, Switzerland.
The moment those wistful guitar chords came in, I was hooked. And then Jamila’s poetic lyrics started painting this striking picture of an intense crush on someone she barely knows. With each verse, I felt myself getting swept up in that exciting, uncertain feeling of new infatuation. The organic, atmospheric backdrop reminded me a bit of artists like Holly Humberstone, Lizzy McAlpine, and The Japanese House.
After spending the last year refining her signature sound, Jamila feels now free to be her fully authentic self through her music. And if Silver Lining is any indication, we’re in for some incredibly raw, vulnerable, and catchy indie-pop jams.
