Elsa Marilyn is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter hailing from Sydney, Australia. She recently dropped a super chill, jazzy single called Teenage Fools. The drums have this vibe I immediately link with Erykah Badu. And as the music builds, the guitar comes in and makes the whole piece even more iconic. Elsa’s dreamy harmonies bring a little sunshine to these cold winter days.
The recording process of this song was quite spontaneous. Elsa actually wrapped it up the night before hitting the studio, can you believe it? But the coolest part, in her opinion, is that every little ad-lib and riff you hear was totally improvised in the moment. She was just vibing and having a blast experimenting. And that’s exactly what the song represents. It’s about being free to act a little foolish sometimes and just have fun with it.
