Erika Emerson, a queer artist from the UK with roots in Berlin, uses her writing to share her vulnerability and empower others to do the same. She releases Say Hello. It’s about the disparity between how you see yourself and how your friends perceive you. Despite their positive view, you harbor a negative self-image underneath your smile, making it challenging to cultivate a fulfilling relationship internally. This can lead to various repercussions, including depression.
The soft vocals dominate this song, accompanied by felted piano and subtle filtered drums. It feels like getting a warm hug after a long time without one. And during these cold winter months, who doesn’t want to feel cozy? I guess everyone.
