Singer/songwriter Frankie June wrote her new single Sleep Through partly in a dream. As soon as she woke up she continued writing and eventually the lyrics took real shape. Throughout the song, the sleeping speaker reaches out to her partner from inside her own dream, imploring them not to wake her because, today, she’s too depressed to get out of bed.
Sleep Through moves like a murmuring stream. It’s soothing and almost makes you meditate. The vocals have a soulful layer behind them and relate to the guitar chords in a meaningful way. I like the chorus because it gives the melody some extra harmony.
June goes all the way creatively with Sleep Through. Wonderful to listen to during these gray winter months. Check it out below!
