British singer-songwriter ELI releases his new single 15 and Alive. It’s about struggles he encountered in high school. He couldn’t be himself there at all and kept his queer identity hidden. He also had difficulty dealing with the hypocrisy and hierarchy he was surrounded by.
Despite the complicated themes of the song, ELI is glad he managed to write it. It’s probably a result of the backbone he developed and the strong opinions he formed over the years.
15 and Alive features dynamic pop production, laced with elements like synths. The vocals have a soulful layer, giving them an extra punch. The chorus feels anthemic due to the way it drives the sound forward.
We can all be proud of ELI. He has come a long way. Check out 15 and Alive below.
