Lefuturewave is a music blog based in the Netherlands. We feature emerging as well as established artists.
Last year, UK act Girlband! released their song Not Like The Rest. Its lyrics are personal to lead singer Georie. They’re about her own coming-out experience. But at the same time they serve as empowerment for everyone who feels different and not heard. This makes them very striking.
Not Like The Rest comes off very rock-like. Driving guitars and punchy drums give it the momentum it needs. The vocals go even one step further with their grandiose dynamic tones. It’s during the chorus when most pieces fall into place sonically.
