Rising indie pop artist/producer Devon Michael slays on her new single Rearview. The lyrics about overcoming internal obstacles and leaving demons in the past. Sometimes it’s better to look ahead and concentrate on what’s possible. You’ll feel more in control this way.
Devon wrote Rearview for the original movie Grace Point. The film shines a powerful light on addiction/recovery, and it was meaningful to her to encapsulate the powerful spirit of the film in the end credits song.
Rearview has dynamic tones that flow from the guitars and drums in all directions. The vocals have a punk layer and cut through the soundscape very organically. My favorite part here is the chorus because of how it’s constructed melodically.
