Powerful singer-songwriter and 4-octave singer Jordan Duffy releases her new single Not Your Dream Girl. It’s decorated with beautiful nostalgic synths and additional indie pop production. You have to hear it! The vocals are very carefully tuned and adapt well to the sweet sound.
The lyrics feel smooth here. Inspired by the movie Sixteen Candles, Duffy reflects on a personal experience where she had feelings for a friend, but recognized that the relationship wouldn’t progress further. She likens this friend to “Jake Ryan,” a character from the film, representing an unattainable love interest.
Made by the ingenious minds at Painfully Creative Production, the video’s plot revolves around an extraterrestrial observing Jordan facing rejection from her high school crush. Subsequently, the alien assumes the identity of the crush to romantically pursue Jordan.
