Singer-songwriter and interdisciplinary artist WINDOW hails from Oakland. She’s celebrating her birthday today while also releasing her new single, CONGRATULATIONS!. It’s written for anyone who has had to make the difficult, but necessary choice to leave a toxic relationship. You should never stay in something you don’t want to be in, you know. More often than not, putting yourself first is liberating and the right decision.
Sonically, CONGRATULATIONS! has some interesting aspects to it. A good example of this is how the emotive guitar melodies and up-tempo pop beats flow around one another in unbroken fashion. The vocals are dazzlingly layered, and their delivery comes across as super sincere.
