Scottish newcomer Nikhita releases her new single Insurance. Through the song, she shares her younger self’s journey of realizing her worth and growing tired of being a second choice in a situation that wasn’t fulfilling. It’s a personal anthem for those who have been in relationships where they felt undervalued and used, even more so in today’s complex dating world, which can often involve manipulative behaviors and unclear intentions.
Insurance has calm R&B production with graceful ebbs and flows. I love, for instance, its guitar melodies. The vocals sound magical too, providing the right amount of dreaminess to completely sink you into the song.
