Miya Zawa, the new musical project from Sara Flint and Tom Brereton, has arrived with their debut single, So Sick. The inspiration behind it is so relatable. Basically, Sara was scrolling through social media when she saw a pic of her bestie with her boyfriend. And she thought to herself, “Girl, you can do so much better than him!” This got her thinking about how we’re always much more critical of our friends’ partners than our own. We set the bar so high for them, but then settle for dudes who just don’t measure up. Especially if their names start with “J” for some reason! Isn’t that so true though?
In true Miya Zawa style, So Sick takes this observation and turns it into a playful anthem, laced with frustration and humor at the same time. The song’s cheeky tone is matched by silly vocal ad-libs and an autotuned outro, making it fun to listen to.
While Miya Zawa just got started, they’re already showing signs of their next level potential. Check out So Sick below!
