VASILIKÍ moved to New York City from Athens, Greece at the age of nineteen to pursue a performing arts career. She penned DREAMERS IN THE DARK while relaxing in her Washington Heights bedroom in 2021. The main vibe she was going for revolved around how a young person’s dreams and aspirations tend to shift and transform as they grow into adulthood. The lyrics explore the uncertainty we all feel trying to find our way in this crazy world.
DREAMERS IN THE DARK has really cool production. I’m enchanted by the textured guitar riffs that wander through the dreamy soundscape, fueled by synthesizers. The vocals are sparkling, possessing plenty of personality. The chorus gets pretty catchy, so don’t skip it.
