In Want It Back, rising star Jess Meilman shares her story about recovering her self-confidence after ending an unhealthy relationship. The lyrics express how angry and let down she felt, realizing she had given way too much to someone who didn’t value or return that kindness.
The song is beautifully produced, with percussion that builds anticipation until the surprise drop, which pairs dreamy strings with intense drums, embodying both mystery and attitude. The vocals are strong, in my opinion.
