24-year-old Filipino-Native American singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist TEHYA releases her debut EP, including the focus track, dust dog. It has quirky pop production that gives off a creative vibe. Like, there’s a lot of thought put into the details. The vocals sound cool too.
dust dog talks about being abandoned. Tehya explains that while staying in a remote cabin to finish her EP, she met a dog named Gucci. The dog would sunbathe in the dirt and wait for his owners to return, which reminded her of how she felt after being dropped by her label—left behind and waiting for something that might never come.
