This past January, the moment finally arrived: queer, soulful powerhouse Chase Andrzej released their debut album, …My Face Off. If you haven’t heard it yet, you’re missing out. It’s super personal and gives you a peek into Chase’s internal universe. They’re refreshingly honest, wearing no masks.
The project explores the confusing state of feeling disconnected from yourself, from what’s real, and from the emotions that used to make you feel grounded. At the same time, the album deals with the heavy burden of bad habits that keep happening. But it doesn’t judge them. Instead, it calmly recognizes that these patterns aren’t just behaviors, they’re ways of coping with a world that can feel overwhelming.
…My Face Off features a handful of tracks that are definitely worth a listen. Take Make It Last and Wait, for example. These songs have a calm, meditative vibe, lending themselves to mental relaxation. On the other hand, Save Me and The Last One are more dynamic, with quirky sonic aspects that pull you into a whole different groove.
Chase has a deep understanding of how music works and is always willing to go the extra mile. …My Face Off shows they’re determined to become a global superstar. But there’s even more to the story. With a deluxe album on the way and numerous projects lined up, Chase is expanding their reach by bringing their experience of hosting apartment shows and other unique events to a larger scale. As you can see, Chase is much more than a mere musician.
