Singer-songwriter imo shares her new single, Hometown Team. It captures the anger and resentment of feeling like you’ve fallen short, whether due to circumstances or personal shortcomings. The song uses grassroots football culture, something imo grew up with in England, as a metaphor for this struggle. The football chant-like chorus binds those who are in the same boat.
Hometown Team has catchy indie pop production, in my opinion. The vocals sound heartfelt, with the right amount of tension. The chorus makes you want to dance along, as it radiates catchiness.
