Comprised of singer-songwriter Justina Shandler and percussionist/songwriter Jon Lane, LADY SLOTH formed after an impromptu songwriting session in a Cambria, California, hotel room. Bonding over a mutual love for artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Dawes, the pair quickly developed a musical synergy rooted in vulnerability and dynamic storytelling.

Written in the aftermath of their final breakup, Disaster was born from Lane’s solo chorus idea, which sat untouched for five months while the duo maintained a no-contact boundary. When they eventually reconnected as friends, they decided to finish the track together, a healing process that marked both a creative collaboration and a personal turning point. “We figured finishing the song together would be a meaningful way to process everything,” they shared. “Not only did we create something we’re proud of, but it also helped solidify our friendship in a new way.”

Produced by Sean Gould in North Hollywood, Disaster embodies the duo’s signature mix of punchy percussion, soaring melodies, and an addictive chorus that gets under your skin. It’s both a farewell to what was and a celebration of what’s next. Start listening below!
