Rising Nashville-based artist Scott Clay toured across Europe last year, and his new album, Live In Europe, captures the energy of that journey through a series of live recordings that were made in the UK and the Netherlands during November and December 2024.
The project has a total of 11 tracks. And how does it sound? Well, surprisingly stellar. The guitar work never feels outdated; instead, it’s inventive and layered with subtle details that keep you engaged and attentive. Scott’s vocals are stunning throughout, full of soul and honesty, bringing a powerful sincerity into the mix. You can truly feel him pouring his heart out, which makes the album especially compelling.
Picking favorites is tough since every track serves its own purpose, but More and The Captive are special for me. They truly touch my heart because of how they’re written and how they progress. Scott shines on them, for sure.
Live In Europe is an album that oozes urgency. Scott genuinely has a lot to say, and his style lets you drift away in contemplation. It makes me eager to find out what he’ll create next. I wouldn’t mind hearing another live album anytime soon. As for now, I’ll keep playing Live In Europe on repeat. Check it out below!
