Rooted in psych-folk with a vintage rock soul, the song feels like it could’ve been pressed on vinyl in 1973 and left to bake in the backseat of an old convertible. It’s got the rugged charm of early Fleetwood Mac, the laid-back cool of Laurel Canyon, and the cinematic glow of Daisy Jones & The Six. But Smith doesn’t just imitate, she takes hold of that era’s spirit while making it uniquely hers.
The singer’s vocals glide like heat waves over a bed of guitar and drums. It’s not loud. It’s not flashy. And it doesn’t need to be. It pulls you in with dreamy magnetism.
